We begin our journey at the acclaimed Walking Mountains Science Center, where children will get an up-close look at the natural world around them. Through fun, interactive exhibits and kid-friendly presentations, they’ll learn about the unique ecosystems of Eagle County and the amazing animals that call it home—like beaver, moose, bighorn sheep, mule deer, black bears, red foxes, and more!
After about 30 minutes of indoor exploration, we’ll take the learning outside and hit the trail! Our young adventurers will experience lush alpine meadows, shaded aspen groves, and crystal-clear mountain streams—ideal habitats for spotting wildlife. Along the way, we’ll pause to pick wild strawberries and raspberries (in season), giving kids a delicious taste of the local landscape. We'll explore animal tracks, learn about native plants, and even practice quiet observation techniques to better spot the creatures of the forest.
